During the past 35 years India has emerged as a major centre of management education. More recently the country has witnessed a phenomenal growth in the founding of management institutions and has developed managers of global competence. This number is about one half of the number of MBAs produced in the USA and is the largest for any country outside of USA. In the present context of Management Education in India, it is quite essential that meaningful networking arrangements are worked out between leading management institutions, Universities, management institutes established in the private sector, professional societies as well as industry and other stake holders. Management institutions should have linkage with Business and Industry to understand their requirements and reorient teaching, training, consultancy and research activities to meet the challenges of globalization and liberalization. The National Seminar on Paper Presentation-February 2008 focusing on Changing Scenario of Management Education in India aims to bring academicians, research scholars and corporate on the common platform to share their views, opinions, findings and research. |
